Our wedding at The Abbington was absolutely perfect! From start to finish, the entire team went above and beyond to make our day everything we dreamed of and more. The staff was so kind, attentive, and truly a joy to work with — they made the planning process feel easy and stress-free. The venue itself is stunning — elegant, timeless, and filled with the most beautiful ambiance that made our night feel magical. Every detail was handled with care, and everything ran so smoothly thanks to their incredible coordination. We also loved every single one of their recommended vendors! Each one was professional, responsive, and worked seamlessly together to make our day perfect. We couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else. We chose Abbington Distinctive Banquets for our September 2025 wedding and we couldn’t be happier with our decision! From the very beginning, Abbington stood out as one of the few venues that responded promptly and professionally to our initial inquiry. The large, clean, and beautifully maintained restrooms were another pleasant surprise. We held our ceremony on the grand staircase and our reception in the ballroom, and both spaces were absolutely perfect. Packages and pricing were presented openly and transparently, which we really appreciated. On the day of our wedding, every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless. Monica and our room captain were especially amazing; calm, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. Whenever nerves started to kick in, Monica was right there to keep things on track. The day flowed perfectly, even better than we could have imagined. The food was another highlight! Our tasting months prior was wonderful, but the chef somehow exceeded expectations on the actual day, our guests couldn’t stop raving about the meal. We recently had our wedding reception at Abbington & are so happy with our choice. Working with Monica was great, she is very responsive to any questions & accommodating. As a type A bride I always had a nice list of questions to ask her when we met lol, and she always answered everything with such patience. Our reception was beautiful & guests were complimentary of the food. Their partnership with a florist & bakery was very nice as well. Definitely recommend this beautiful venue!

I love this venue! It's absolutely stunning inside, so clean, chandeliers are sparkling, great food, & the staff are very nice! I attended a friend's wedding on Saturday. I also had my own daughter's wedding here 6yrs ago. Highly recommend Abbington for a wedding or engagement reception.

He made sure my husband and I were actually eating (which can be so hard on a wedding day!), kept our glasses full all night, and even packed up so many of our things at the end of the evening. Great place for a banquet

I love this venue! I actually used them for my sons Baptism 9 years ago, and again this August for my daughters Quinceañera. The food was amazing and the staff was top notch. Highly recommend them

We had an amazing night that we will remember forever! Tara and her team were able to make our wedding dream come true! Tara was very patient and responsive with our questions. They offer a stair case wedding which flowed amazing into the ballroom for cocktail hour and the reception, without any delays. The venue accommodates weddings sizes big or small for the reception. The outdoor patio was beautiful and quite for photos or to take a break from the event. There are plenty of preferred vendors that they have connection which that they can recommend for any event.

Absolutely Beautiful

Unbelievable wedding experience - as a guest. I've been to many events like this, but this place was incredible. I'm an out of towner. The quality of the venue, food, & service was the best I've had yet. Quality all around!!!

Monica was our banquet manager for our wedding her this past summer. She was very easy to get a hold of, even easier to work with, and overall a real champion for helping us get the best experience we could from the venue. We had a rather sizable wedding and when looking at the room availability and our intended spend amount, Monica offered us extra space and a way to utilize it elegantly. She worked with us on custom experiences outside of their packages and helped us with pricing on the packages of theirs we did use. On top of that, their foods are all top quality for very reasonable pricing when compared to similar venues. The only downfall on the night was that of the 8 bottles of a liquor we brought, only 2 got used because the bar staff was unaware of the remaining 6 in their storage.

My wedding was here at Abbington the great experience of my life. All of my guests were wild, including myself. The service was impeccable. Monica was my coordinator and I could never in my life asked for anything more. They took care of everybody like we were family. If I could describe this venue in one word it would be AMAZING. I had my high school graduation at this venue and it was perfect. The food is great. The people are great. The venue is clean and always smells good. Everything was perfect. My planner was Monica and I can not thank her enough for all the hard work she and her team put into my event to make it perfect and stress free. Monica was very flexible with me and made planning so much easier and less overwhelming. On the day of the event she was very helpful with every little detail, details I didn’t or even wouldn’t think about. The servers and people working there the night of the event worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly and everyone was so nice and helpful. The managers, banquet directors, and staff at Abbington Distinctive Banquets are amazing! We recently hosted our Prom 2025 (for 650 guests) at the venue, and everything was perfect. They were friendly, accommodating, and our students had a fabulous time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The gorgeous ballroom and large dance floor were expansive enough for our students. Abbington Distinctive Banquets surpassed my expectations, and I highly recommend the facility to anyone or organization wishing to celebrate a memorable event. Thank you for making our night so magnificent!

I can't say enough about how wonderful the Abbington was for our daughter's wedding on 3/29/2025. The staff was outstanding and Monica did an excellent job helping us coordinate the event. The staff came to our table and personally gave us some appetizers because they knew we were up visiting other tables. The food was amazing. We still have people commentate our wedding was one of the nicest events they have been to. If you are looking for host a five star event.. stop looking now and go to the Abbington!

My organization LPGA Chicago hosted the 2025 Kick Off Event. The staff were exceptional. Very attentive and professional. Due to their expertise, I could focus on the program leaving the rest in their capable hands.

Though we did not end up choosing the Abbington for our wedding reception, I still felt inclined to leave a review. The banquet is absolutely stunning and renovated with chandeliers and great lighting. Victoria was our person of contact, and I cannot express how amazing and attentive she was. I had a million questions and concerns, and she was able to answer all of them. I'm sure the rest of the team is amazing too.

The Perfect Day My husband and I could not be happier with how our wedding went at the Abbington. We had cocktail hour and the reception there. We worked with Kathy Koutsogiannis and she went above and beyond- we love her!! She accommodated our every ask and was so great to work with. Dream Venue The Abbington was our dream venue!! Not only does it have a STUNNING appearance with big beautiful chandeliers and a huge ballroom dance floor, but the staff was SO great to work with! Tara was absolutely amazing and helped make the planning process stress free with her calm, sweet personality! She was always quick to respond to my multi-question emails, she was so polite to my crazy family and made sure our day ran exactly as planned and it truly did! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful it was to this day, saying they felt like they were at a fairytale wedding! I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone in the search process! This was the first place I was interested in because of its beautiful appearance, but the staff helped this venue go above and beyond my expectations! Incredible Banquet, Wonderful Wedding Party From the event coordinators to the service staff, everyone was so friendly and professional at the Abbington. We were able to have a stress-free time with how smoothly everything was run. Planning a wedding from abroad is normally so difficult, but because of our awesome coordinator Kathy, we were able to get everything we dreamed of, exactly the way we wanted it to be. It's been two months since our wedding, and our guests still talk about how genuinely delicious the food was (even down to the coffee!), how attentive the staff was, how nice and big the dancefloor was, and simply how beautiful and elegant the event looked. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision to have our wedding here. I really can't recommend this place enough! If you're looking to book a wedding or any other party, this is the best place to do it!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception held here 9/1/2023 and it was the most beautiful experience. The package we chose made planning very easy for a couple who did all the planning themselves. Kathy really outdid herself with making sure we had the best wedding!

Spacious, well-appointed, clean and excellently staffed. The birthday celebration we attended there was wonderful with good food and much use of the ballroom dance floor.

Leading up to the wedding one thing that I had not thought about prior to booking this venue is that we wanted a traditional soul food cuisine and the venue does not offer outside catering. Tara went above and beyond to meet my needs by helping us put together a custom menu using items from their various banquet menus. She also allowed us to request extra seasonings and provide details on how to turn their traditional menu Mac and cheese to "southern style baked Mac and cheese to give the food the southern flare we desired. The chef did an amazing job of executing it and the food was delicious and an absolute hit! My family (including the great aunties and grandparents) whom are tuff food critics were very pleased! We had absolutely NO complaints with anything related to the venue on our big day and would like to thank the staff at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets for being top tier! Everything was perfect!!!

We hosted our July wedding at the Abbington and could not have asked for a better experience. Between the planning leading up to the big day to the day itself, the Abbington and its staff made our wedding so special. Tara and Mary made planning so easy and customized. They were very responsive and went above and beyond for our requests. We also loved the fact that they have an option to host the ceremony in a separate room from the reception which was an absolute must for me, I am very particular and a little hard to deal with at times due to my over attention to detail and wanting every single detail preplanned and perfectly executed. Tara my venue coordinator was very accommodating to my "type A" personality 🙂 She was very patient with me no matter how many times I contacted her, or regardless of how many times I stopped by the venue to run through things or do mock set ups, and was always just a email/ phone call away throughout the entire planning process. Leading up to the wedding one thing that I had not thought about prior to booking this venue is that we wanted a traditional soul food cuisine and the venue does not offer outside catering. Tara went above and beyond to meet my needs by helping us put together a custom menu using items from their various banquet menus. She also allowed us to request extra seasonings and provide details on how to turn their traditional menu Mac and cheese to "southern style baked Mac and cheese to give the food the southern flare we desired. The chef did an amazing job of executing it and the food was delicious and an absolute hit! My family (including the great aunties and grandparents) whom are tuff food critics were very pleased! We had absolutely NO complaints with anything related to the venue on our big day and would like to thank the staff at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets for being top tier! Everything was perfect!!!

This place has beautiful banquet halls. The atmosphere is great, parking and hospitality.

Came here to tour the place and overall super happy and impressed. It definitely was well cleaned and had a nice smell. The overall lobby was decorated pretty and the classical music in the background was nice. Cathy was super helpful and kind. Really nice place overall and the outside in spring it’s gorgeous with all the blossoms.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Kathy was the event planner for my friends wedding this past weekend. She is the best! I want her to plan my wedding with me when I get married. The staff was so accommodating and fast paced. Everything worked out so well here. The food was also so delicious. This venue is absolutely amazing! If you are getting married soon, you need to check them out. I recently got married here, and could not have picked a better place for our reception. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is outstanding, and the service we were provided not only leading up to our wedding but on our wedding day exceeded all my expectations.

Top notch! My brother in law got married and party was here at the Abbington Banquets and from horderves to the bar and service from staff, everything was GREAT!

HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at Abbington Distinctive Banquets!! We worked with Tara throughout the whole process and she was really great to us, listened to what we wanted and helped us whenever we had questions. They made our ceremony and reception look magical and beautiful! One of the staff members Chase was really great too, brought us appetizers and drinks and helped us with other things throughout the night. Again, highly recommend the Abbington!

I been to a few wedding at this location. The last one was in 2019 prior to Covid. The food was amazing. I never had such a huge spread of delicious food. It a great place to go for reception. Not far from the Morton arboretum. I highly recommend them.

I booked the Abbington for a corporate year end celebration, and from start to finish had a wonderful experience! I worked with Kathy and she was a pleasure to work with. I booked with a relatively short time frame, and Kathy assured me that they could do it, and I was not disappointed. She was so accommodating, and nice. She got back to me promptly, and made sure specific requests happened. The Abbington was beautiful and the food was excellent! The food portions were very generous. We had rave reviews from our guests. The restrooms were clean and spacious, they appeared to be cleaned after every event. The banquet staff were also great, they were friendly and also made my requests happen. We had an afternoon event and the price of the package was very reasonable and given everything it included, a great value. The only downside is that while they take credits cards for the deposit, they do not take credit cards for final payment. Thank you so much Abbington & Kathy for making me look good, and making sure my event ran smoothly! Would definitely recommend the Abbington for any event.

We fell in love with the Abbington the minute we stepped in the door. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue - the chandeliers are a showstopper. We worked with Tara who was the best! She was so organized and knowledgable, honest and we trusted her which is so important when putting basically your entire wedding reception in someone else's hands! Everything was set up exactly as we discussed and they really brought my vision to life. The food is also excellent. We are still hearing from guests on how beautiful the venue was as well as how amazing the food was -- everything came out hot and we had 250 guests!
